I miss every day things like cable TV and having more
than one bathroom and always having some place to be. 
This isn’t elegance this is trying to keep my shit together.
This is knowing my best friend will always be
two hours late so I schedule everything backward.

I unplug everything. It took me twenty minutes
to pick out a new lipstick and I wanted to tell you
something else but this character limit got me fucked up.
But this eye shadow that still needs blending.
But all of the things I should have said or done
with my hands but didn’t. Instead tell me how my neck
looks golden with my hair pinned back
in candlelight. I’m sorry for what I won’t feel,
